If you would be willing to contribute to your community by assisting with any of the following, please contact a HEAR officer to volunteer your services.
Type of Volunteers Needed:
Neighborhood Watch Members: Our objective is to enhance the security and safety of the neighborhood by patrolling the area for two hours (from 10:00-midnight) on Friday and Saturday nights. We still need more volunteers.
Rotary Park Gate-closers: If anyone living near Rotary Park would like to join the gate-closing team, we would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, we have 8 families on a weekday/weekend rotation to open the gates in the mornings and close them in the evenings every day.
Lawyer/Attorney: We are looking for assistance from attorneys in drafting and filing legal documents if and when it becomes necessary to enforce our covenants in court. All action would be taken by HEAR, but we would welcome any legal advice to make sure we do things properly.
Area Coordinators or Block Street Captains: We have divided the neighborhood into nine areas. (Download area map here - MS Word document) Our goal is to have a coordinator in each area to act as the HEAR liaison. Possible duties of an Area Coordinator would be to serve as the point-of-contact for residents in an area when there are safety, zoning or other problems; keep track of residents moving in and out of the area and forward the information to the Board; help increase awareness of the association and its projects; help with the membership drive and turnout for neighborhood-wide events such as clean-up day and annual meetings; and manage an e-mail database of the residents in an area. We have come up with the following areas: two areas for Ridgefield; four areas for Heritage East; and one area each for Georgetown, Carriage Estates, and Ventura Estates. Be a leader; become a Heritage East Area Coordinator! HEAR also welcomes block/street captains to perform the same functions as area coordinators on any street(s) in Heritage East.
Neighborhood Litter Clean-up Volunteers: The Domingo Baca Arroyo, the walking trail south of Redmont, and Rotary Park all need dedicated individuals to regularly maintain the areas and keep them clean.
